Your Mission as a Senior Drilling Cost Control Specialist
As a Senior Drilling Cost Control Specialist, your primary mission is to ensure the financial efficiency and accuracy of the drilling and well services operations. You will be instrumental in preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and implementing cost-saving strategies to support the operational and financial goals of the drilling department.
You will be handling these duties and responsibilities as a Senior Drilling Cost Control Specialist
- Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with the drilling well services and finance departments.
- Update budgets periodically and generate monthly closing reports.
- Review financial aspects of Call for Tender Documents and coordinate with Contracts and Finance departments for any issues.
- Work with drilling well services engineers to prepare annual stock variations and material lists for operations.
- Compare and analyze incurred costs against the budget, assisting in cost reduction initiatives.
- Monitor and maintain records of all contractors' invoices and coordinate disputed invoices with the Finance department.
- Ensure timely administrative coordination between the drilling department and related service contracts.
- Facilitate the finance department’s quick invoice processing to leverage early payment discounts.
- Maintain a detailed contract register, including purchase orders (PO) and service orders (SO).
- Participate in procurement processes and market investigations.
- Serve as the contact point within the Drilling Department for MMS software and coordinate with the Procurement department for stock item management.
Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as a Senior Drilling Cost Control Specialist

Education: B.Sc. in Accounting or Petroleum Engineering

Experience: Extensive experience in cost control for drilling projects or oil industry operations

Competencies:
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent team-working abilities and multitasking skills
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- In-depth knowledge of contract forms, terms, and conditions
- Experienced in accounting practices relevant to the oil industry
- Familiarity with drilling equipment and products
