About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Music lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating diverse musical genres and styles.
- Plan and deliver lessons that foster musical performance, composition, and appreciation skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including instrumental instruction and music technology.
- Assess student progress through performances, compositions, and written assessments, providing detailed feedback to support their musical development.
- Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum, integrating current musical trends and performance techniques, and participate in departmental planning and collaboration.
- Organize and lead musical performances, concerts, and extracurricular music activities, such as choirs, bands, and instrumental ensembles, promoting student engagement and artistic expression.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Music subject knowledge, including performance, composition, and music theory.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Music to A-Level, with a focus on both practical skills and theoretical understanding.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and musical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students in a vibrant artistic environment.
- Commitment to fostering musical creativity and performance excellence.
