Your Role as an English Teacher:
🔹 Plan and deliver engaging and accessible English lessons, adapted to meet the diverse needs of students with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, and other additional needs.
🔹 Use a variety of differentiated teaching strategies to support literacy development and communication skills.
🔹 Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that fosters confidence and academic growth.
🔹 Work closely with teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and external professionals to implement EHCPs and individual learning plans.
🔹 Use adaptive teaching methods, assistive technology, and creative approaches to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
🔹 Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
🔹 Support students’ social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and resilience.
Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at secondary or SEN level.
✅ A strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and the SEND Code of Practice.
✅ Experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, or communication difficulties is highly desirable.
✅ A creative, adaptable, and patient approach to teaching.
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to inclusive education.
✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
