About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on GCSE curriculum requirements.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of mathematical concepts, techniques, and applications, encouraging students to develop their mathematical knowledge, understanding, and skills.
- Facilitate student-led problem-solving activities, investigations, and presentations, encouraging mathematical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills.
- Assess student progress through written assignments, projects, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Mathematics curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current mathematical scholarship and best practices in mathematics education.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as mathematics clubs, mathematics competitions, and participation in mathematics challenges, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Mathematics or a related field.
- Experience teaching Mathematics to GCSE level, with a focus on mathematical knowledge, understanding, and skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mathematical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A passion for fostering a love of mathematics and developing problem-solving skills in young people.
- Knowledge of a wide range of mathematical concepts, techniques, and applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
