A well-renowned secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to lead their Special Educational Needs provision from April 2025. Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at a prestigious secondary school in Westminster
- Lead and manage the SEN provision, ensuring high-quality support for students with diverse needs
- Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusive teaching and learning across the school
- Oversee the assessment, tracking, and progress monitoring of students with SEN
- Provide professional development and training for staff to enhance their understanding of SEN best practices
- Work closely with senior leadership, teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to student support
- Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and maintain a focus on continuous improvement in SEN provision
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience as a SENCO, ideally in a secondary school setting
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to complete it
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education strategies
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide staff in delivering exceptional SEN support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and external stakeholders
- A proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving
- Enhanced DBS check required
