We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Art department in a creative and inclusive secondary school in Kensington. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025.

We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of art forms, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital media. We have a dedicated photography studio with darkroom facilities and access to digital cameras and editing software.
About the Role:
- Teach Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on photography.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Guide and support students in developing their photography skills, including composition, lighting, and editing techniques.
- Encourage students to explore different photographic genres and styles, fostering their creativity and artistic expression.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Art and Design curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
- Foster a love of Art and photography in students, encouraging them to explore different art forms and develop their own artistic voice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Art and photography education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Art and Design, with a specialism in photography.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching Art and photography and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Art and Design.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
