Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at a supportive secondary school in Barking
- Teach SEN students across different key stages, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging curriculum
- Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development
- Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other professionals to create and implement personalized learning plans for students
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed to ensure success
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where students feel valued and motivated
- Help students develop essential life skills, independence, and self-confidence
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching SEN students at secondary level, ideally in a mainstream school or SEN setting
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching students with additional needs
- Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and a commitment to providing inclusive education
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Enhanced DBS check required
