Your Role as a Science HLTA:
🔹 Deliver Science lessons and provide support to small groups or one-to-one as directed by the class teacher.
🔹 Adapt lesson materials and activities to meet the specific learning needs of students in the PRU.
🔹 Assist in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
🔹 Provide emotional and pastoral support, helping students develop confidence in their abilities.
🔹 Encourage independence and critical thinking in students through engaging and differentiated activities.
🔹 Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEN team.
🔹 Support teachers in planning and preparing science resources and learning activities.
Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Experience as an HLTA or Teaching Assistant with a strong Science background.
✅ A passion for supporting young people with complex needs in a PRU or alternative education setting.
✅ Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work with students facing challenges.
✅ An understanding of SEN and how to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
