About the Mathematics Department:

We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of mathematical topics, from algebra and geometry to calculus and statistics. We encourage students to develop their critical thinking skills, logical reasoning, and mathematical fluency through a variety of teaching methods and resources.
About the Role:
- Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported to make excellent progress in Mathematics.
- Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including interactive whiteboards, technology, manipulatives, and real-world applications, to bring mathematics to life for students and foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Mathematics curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and engaging for all students.
- Foster a love of Mathematics in students, encouraging them to participate in maths clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities, and to consider further studies or careers in STEM fields.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment where students thrive.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice, keep abreast of the latest developments in mathematics education, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Mathematics department.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Mathematics, with a strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Mathematics and relevant examination specifications.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching mathematics and a commitment to student success, with a proven track record of engaging and inspiring students.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Is confident in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported to achieve their best.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice, contributing to the continuous improvement of their teaching skills and the department as a whole.
