
Paralegal
Career Consulting Partners has partnered with a large plaintiff-side litigation law firm that represents regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies across various industries in both federal and state courts. We specialize in Wage Hour, Class Actions, Complex Litigation, the Private Attorneys General Act, the California Labor Code, and Labor Employment.
The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including, but not limited to, document preparation and review interviewing clients and witnesses research, investigations, fact-checking discovery responses deposition prep and notices reservation of travel expense reporting preparation and filing of legal documents and trial preparation. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet all our clients’ needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Draft legal documents such as routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources provide written analysis to attorneys.
- Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements.
- Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, including evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings.
- Develop and maintain records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Organize, enter, and cross-reference documents in a computerized database.
- Prepare discovery requests and responses.
- Assist general counsel in organizing and carrying out special projects as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3- 6 years of experience with civil litigation related to employment or personal injury law
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
