Purpose of the role
The Head of Group Accounting is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Groups accounting and financial reporting. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role leads the Group Accounting team based in Stockholm with operations primarily in the Nordic countries. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting overall Group financial operations. The role reports to the Group CFO.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and financial statements in accordance with IFRS/local GAAP for the Group.
- Responsible for the Groups quarterly and annual report.
- Manage the external audit process and liaise with auditors and regulators.
- Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of Group financials.
- Responsible for and overseeing the day to day accounting operations, leading and coordinating the team(s) within the Groups organization, including tasks such as vacation planning, approving team’s expenses, absences and vacation requests.
- Responsible for identifying competency needs and planning competency development for the team.
- Reponsible for and ensuring all financial transactions and documents align with laws and regulations.
- Streamline accounting functions and processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance, while implementing continuous improvements in daily operations.
- Responsible for ensuring correct handling of VAT and taxes for the specific company.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and forecasting.
- Maintain and update the Groups accounting manual.
- Group responsibility for the Groups ERP system (NetSuite).
