We are looking for a Head of Science for a bilingual school based in Zhuhai. This is a full-time position starting in August 2025.

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Science Teacher to assume the leadership role in the Department of Science. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide a team of dedicated professionals, delivering exceptional teaching to students. They will play a crucial role in elevating the importance of science within the school, while fostering the growth and progress of science as a core subject in the curriculum. The successful applicants will actively contribute to shaping the College's vision and upholding its values. Your main responsibilities include:
- Teach high-quality science lessons to students in Years 7-13, covering IGCSE, AS, and A-Level curricula
- Inspire and challenge students through effective class management and engaging teaching methods
- Use assessments and monitoring to set ambitious goals for students with diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents when needed
- Assist in developing curriculum plans, marking, and assessment policies
- Work collaboratively as part of the science department team
- Participate in school life, including teaching, pastoral duties, co-curricular activities, and boarding responsibilities
- Support the school's pastoral efforts by assuming the role of a Tutor
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in science and a recognized teaching qualification
- Preferably, experience in teaching in an international or bilingual school
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Experience in strategic leadership and teamwork
- Minimum two years of experience as a Head of Department in the relevant subject area
- Hold a teaching certificate PGCE, QTS or equivalent
