About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Psychology lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
- Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported in their psychological understanding.
- Utilise a range of teaching methods and resources, including case studies, research studies, debates, and interactive activities, to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of psychological concepts and skills.
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Psychology examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and psychological methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of the Psychology curriculum and resources, integrating current psychological research and ethical considerations.
- Foster a love of psychology in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical, critical thinking, and research skills, and to appreciate the complexity of human behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider academic and extracurricular life of the school.
- Organize and lead psychological investigations, research projects, and ethical debates, promoting scientific inquiry and ethical awareness.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Psychology, including research methods and ethical considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 4 and 5, including A-Level.
- Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Psychology examinations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
- A passion for psychology and a commitment to fostering scientific inquiry and ethical awareness.
- Ability to organize and lead psychological investigations and research projects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
