A supportive and inclusive Alternative Provision in Bexley is seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team from April 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to work with students who need additional support to succeed academically and rediscover their love for learning in a structured and nurturing environment.
Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at a supportive Alternative Provision in Bexley
- Teach Maths to secondary-aged students who may face challenges in mainstream education, including those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs or special educational needs (SEN)
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons that cater to a range of abilities
- Support students to develop both their mathematical skills and their confidence in the subject
- Work closely with a team of dedicated staff, including teaching assistants and SEN specialists, to provide individualized support
- Track student progress, adapting teaching methods and providing tailored interventions to support learning
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level, ideally in an alternative provision, SEN, or PRU setting
- Strong understanding of the Maths curriculum and the ability to differentiate effectively for diverse learning needs
- A patient and empathetic approach to working with students who may have SEMH or behavioural challenges
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS check required
