Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join our specialist school in Westminster. This is an exciting opportunity to teach music to students with special educational needs, offering them the chance to express themselves creatively and develop their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality music lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with special educational needs.
- Create engaging and accessible music activities that inspire students and allow them to explore their creativity.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel confident, supported, and motivated to succeed in music.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff members.
- Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Work closely with other teachers and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to students' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage students to participate in school performances, fostering a love of music and confidence in their abilities.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching music, ideally in a special educational needs (SEN) setting.
- A strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and the ability to differentiate music lessons effectively.
- A creative, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
