About the Role:
- Teach Design & Technology, with a specialism in Resistant Materials, across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for teaching at Key Stage 5.
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
- Guide and support students in using a variety of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products.
- Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our D&T curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
- Foster a love of Design & Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Design & Technology, with a specialism in Resistant Materials.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
