Are you a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Resistant Materials with a passion for inspiring students to design, create, and innovate using resistant materials? We are seeking a dedicated and innovative D&T Teacher to join our successful department in a high-performing academy in Hounslow.

About the D&T Department:
The Design and Technology department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to fostering students' creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical abilities. We have well-equipped workshops with a wide range of tools, machinery, and resources to support students in developing their skills in working with resistant materials, such as metal, wood, and plastics.
About the Role:
- Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Guide and support students in developing their practical skills in using tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
- Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to create high-quality products.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our D&T curriculum remains relevant and engaging.
- Foster a love of Design and Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity and develop their design thinking skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Design and Technology, with a specialism in Resistant Materials.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
