Are you a passionate and engaging Teacher of Biology with a desire to inspire students to explore the wonders of the natural world? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual, including ECTs, to join our supportive Science department in a Church of England secondary school in Hammersmith.

About the Science Department:
The Science department is a collaborative and dynamic team with a shared passion for fostering students' love of science and exploration of the natural world. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. We have well-equipped laboratories and access to a variety of resources to support students' learning and investigations.
About the Role:
- Teach Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including experiments, demonstrations, fieldwork, and technology, to bring Biology to life for students.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Biology curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
- Foster a love of Biology in students, encouraging them to explore the natural world and develop their scientific understanding.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Biology education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply).
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Biology.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching Biology and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Biology and relevant examination specifications.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
