Horizons is representing our client to find a Senior DFx Engineer based in Nanjing to support the Manufacturing in the China Product Team.
Our client is a Unicorn company from UK, their product evolving how humanity does laundry by reinventing traditional machines and breaking down the high barriers that alienate billions from home laundry access.
JOB OVERVIEW
We are working with our selected manufacturing partner in Cixi to finish the
development of Eeva and will be moving into the phase of final prototypes and
tooling release. Throughout 2025 we will be taking this product through the validation
and industrialization phase and expectations are that this role will require being on
site for 75-80% of the time, with the remainder being able to work remotely from
home.
We need a resourceful and passionate Design Engineer, to realise our vision of a
market leading product shipping to the US in 2025, on budget and with the highest
quality.
As mentioned, we are a small team, so the role would be dynamic and we expect
you to be flexible and play a meaningful role in the detailed design and execution of
our flagship product. We will need problem solving, initiative and drive to ensure the
technical specifications are met.

Essential skills:

Good communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English (fluent and
technical english)

An engineering or technical background, with at least 10-15 years experience
in product development and delivery

Recent experience in the laundry industry

CAD skills - 2D & 3D in Creo or Solidworks

Mastery of Design For Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) and Design Failure
Modes & Effect Analysis (DFMEA) methodologies
Detail design skills to ensure readiness for tooling authorisation and kickoff

Provide insights and expertise to resolve test failures and ensure the design is
robust, passing UL standards

Deep knowledge of the product development process from end to end and
respect of the roles each department plays to deliver a world class product

Presentation skills, to communicate complex technical concepts
