Class Action Employment Attorney
Career Consulting Partners has partnered with a young ambitious boutique firm in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles in front of the CBRE building. The firm handles both personal injury and employment cases. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Class Action Associate to join our team. As a member of our firm, you will have the opportunity to represent victims of wage theft on a classwide basis as it relates to unpaid overtime, meal and rest breaks, unreimbursed expenses, and more. You will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel, drafting legal documents, taking/defending depositions, and advocating for our clients both in and out of the courtroom. This is the perfect opportunity to get experience and exposure in state and federal plaintiff’s-side class action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies in multiple industries.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Will handle the day-to-day management of approximately 50 – 75 employment cases under the supervision of one of our senior attorneys. Out of the 50 – 75 cases, we expect approximately 1/3 of those cases to be settled with minimal work (i.e. very soon after filing the complaint).
- The caseload will consist of employment law matters, primarily focusing on wage and hour class action.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- An active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
- 2 to 8 years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on wage and hour class action / PAGA cases.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to empathize with clients and provide compassionate legal representation.
COMPENSATION BENEFITS:
- Salary for this position is based on experience, within the range of $130,000 to $250,000 annually, in addition to year-end bonuses.
