Accountant - Financial Services

Their expertise includes policy definitions, document consistency reviews, development of compliance teams, gap analysis to regulatory requirements, and more.

Location: Remote – Cyprus
Responsibilities:
As an Accountant, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Review and process invoices, bank statements, cash receipts, and travel expenses.
- Support the preparation of VAT tax returns.
- Perform timely and accurate accounting duties for assigned entities.
- Assist in period-end activities and correct entries in the books.
- Ensure all transactions and internal processes comply with local financial, internal, and tax standards.
- Support the finance team in preparing financial statements and audits.
- Engage in various projects initiated by the group finance team.
- Handle day-to-day operations of finance affairs.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
- Undertake other relevant tasks assigned by Management.
- Bookkeeping of purchase invoices and expenses.
- Perform Creditors and Debtors reconciliation.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Assist in preparing and filing VAT and VIES reports.
Requirements:
- Part-qualified in a relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) would be preferred.
- Experience with local accounting standards knowledge of IFRS specifics is a plus.
- Desire to learn and develop professional knowledge and expertise.
- A keen eye for process improvement and optimisation.
- Strong analytical, communicative, and problem-solving skills.
- Eligibility to work in Cyprus.
- Fluency in English
