What we are looking for
We are seeking a candidate with over 7 years of proven sales leadership experience, specifically in building and managing high-performing B2B sales teams within the tech industry. The ideal individual will have deep expertise in the fintech landscape across Kenya and East Africa, supported by a robust network of industry contacts. As a strategic thinker, they should be adept at developing and executing complex sales strategies in dynamic, fast-changing markets. Significant experience working in or with tech startups, particularly in the B2B SaaS space, is essential. Additionally, a strong results-driven approach with a history of consistently meeting or exceeding ambitious sales targets and driving revenue growth is crucial for success in this role.
What does the job involve
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the Kenyan market, aligning with our overall business objectives.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, setting clear goals and KPIs.
- Leverage your extensive network in the fintech space, as well as among merchants and retailers, to identify and secure strategic partnerships and high-value accounts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in target companies and industry influencers.
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to refine offerings based on market feedback and competitive analysis.
- Implement and optimize sales processes, including the use of modern CRM tools and sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDIC).
- Forecast sales, set targets, and report on key metrics to the executive team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Represent us at industry events, conferences, and high-level client meetings.
