The Marketing Manager, in collaboration with the Director, is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive marketing strategies that promote the mission, programs, products, and initiatives of the College. This role plays a vital part in increasing the organization's visibility, engagement, and growth by producing compelling marketing content and leading the execution of targeted campaigns.
Key responsibilities include strategic planning, copywriting, and the creation and distribution of email marketing campaigns. The Marketing Manager oversees the content and delivery of the organization's weekly Monday Prep e-newsletter and other key communications efforts. They ensure that messaging aligns with the College's program goals and resonates with target audiences. Additionally, manage all aspects of promotional items, from concept through completion.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a detail-oriented executor who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. They will build and maintain strong working relationships across internal departments including Membership, Design, Communications, Education, Public Policy and Meetings, to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director to plan and implement marketing strategies across organization initiatives.
- Write and edit engaging marketing copy for email campaigns, newsletters, and other communications.
- Manage the production and distribution of the weekly Monday Prep e-newsletter.
- Coordinate with internal departments for cross promotion opportunities and to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with College goals.
- Analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and outreach across all digital platforms including websites, SEO, retargeting advertising, geofencing and email marketing.
- Collaborate with the Director in researching new markets, coordinate mailings, develop email broadcasts, coordinate promotions and reporting.
- Support brand consistency and quality across all marketing channels and materials.
- Serve as the staff liaison for the Women in GI Committee
Working Conditions
- Travel requirements (domestic 1-3 times a year)
Technical Skills
- MS Office programs with database experience
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field is required
- 5+ years of successfully demonstrated work experience required. Association experience position strongly preferred.
- Strong copywriting, editing and email marketing skills
- Knowledge of best practices in digital marketing and campaign analytics
- Project management experience
- Previous database experience
