About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, focusing on GCSE curriculum requirements.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of culinary techniques, nutritional principles, and food safety standards, encouraging students to develop their food technology knowledge, understanding, and skills.
- Facilitate student-led cooking projects, experiments, and presentations, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Assess student progress through practical assessments, written assignments, and presentations, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Food Technology curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current culinary trends and best practices in food technology education.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as cooking clubs, food festivals, and participation in culinary competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- Experience teaching Food Technology to GCSE level, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and culinary skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A passion for fostering culinary skills and healthy eating habits in young people.
- Knowledge of a wide range of culinary techniques, nutritional principles, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
