About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging PE lessons across Key Stages 3-5, including GCSE and A-Level Physical Education.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of sports and activities, including team sports, individual sports, and fitness training.
- Facilitate student-led training sessions, sports events, and competitions, encouraging participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Assess student progress through practical assessments, written analyses, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the PE curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current sports science and best practices in physical education.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as sports clubs, training sessions, and participation in inter-school competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for practical application of skills.
- Maintain and organize sports equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience teaching PE to GCSE and A-Level, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- A passion for fostering physical fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles in young people.
- Proficiency in a range of sports and activities, with coaching qualifications in at least one team sport.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school.
