An inclusive primary school is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join their autism provision from April 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive mainstream school that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed.
Role Highlights:
- Full-time, permanent position at an inclusive primary school
- Teach and support students within the school's autism provision, using structured and engaging approaches
- Plan and deliver individualized learning programs tailored to the needs of autistic students
- Work closely with SEN staff, teachers, and external professionals to create and implement EHCPs and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Use evidence-based strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, and sensory integration to support students' learning and development
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes independence and confidence
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to ensure holistic support
- Track and monitor student progress, implementing interventions as needed
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with autistic students, ideally within a primary school setting
- Strong understanding of autism-specific teaching strategies and SEN frameworks
- Ability to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and behavior management skills
- A patient, proactive, and child-centered approach to teaching
- Enhanced DBS check required
