We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Psychology Teacher to join our dedicated team in Lichfield. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of psychological theory, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to inspiring students at KS4-KS5 to think critically about human behaviour and mental processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking Psychology lessons to students at KS4 and KS5, covering key topics such as cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, and research methods.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, independent learning, and real-world applications of psychological concepts.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through both formative and summative assessments, ensuring that students achieve their full academic potential.
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback to help students refine their understanding of psychological theories and concepts.
- Create an inclusive, interactive classroom environment that promotes active participation, debate, and collaborative learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the Psychology department.
- Engage in extracurricular opportunities, such as running psychology clubs, preparing students for psychology-related competitions, or hosting guest speakers from the field.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Psychology at KS4 and KS5 level, with strong subject knowledge in areas such as research methods, cognitive psychology, and social psychology.
- A solid understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks for Psychology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- A passion for teaching and an ability to motivate students to explore the complexities of human behaviour.
