Your Role as a Food Technology Teacher:
🔹 Plan & Deliver Engaging Lessons – Teach Food Technology, focusing on cooking, nutrition, and the science behind food, to inspire students in practical and creative ways.
🔹 Promote Healthy Living – Encourage students to learn about healthy eating, sustainable food practices, and food safety.
🔹 Develop Practical Skills – Guide students in developing culinary techniques, menu planning, and food preparation.
🔹 Support & Monitor Student Progress – Assess student work, provide feedback, and tailor your approach to help every student succeed.
🔹 Collaborate with the DT Department – Work closely with the Design & Technology team to create cross-curricular projects and a cohesive learning experience.
🔹 Encourage Extra-Curricular Activities – Lead food-related clubs, competitions, and events to extend students' learning beyond the classroom.
Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.
✅ Strong Knowledge of Food Technology – Expertise in food science, nutrition, cooking techniques, and practical applications.
✅ Passionate & Creative – A love for teaching students about food and a creative approach to lesson delivery.
✅ Student-Centered Approach – Dedication to supporting students’ learning and helping them reach their potential.
✅ Collaborative Team Player – Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues to enhance the curriculum.
✅ An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
