We are seeking a passionate and energetic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our enthusiastic and supportive team in Lichfield. The ideal candidate will have a love for sports and physical activity, and a strong commitment to encouraging students at KS3-KS5 to develop their athletic potential while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and active PE lessons to students at KS3 and KS5, focusing on a wide range of sports and physical activities, including team sports, individual fitness, and outdoor pursuits.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and the values of fair play, alongside academic achievement in PE.
- Assess and track student progress through both practical and theoretical assessments.
- Provide meaningful feedback and support, helping students to improve their performance and understand the importance of physical fitness.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels encouraged to participate and improve their skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the success of the PE department, share best practices, and engage in continuous professional development.
- Support extracurricular activities such as after-school sports clubs, school teams, and sports events to further enhance the students’ physical education experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching PE at KS3 and KS5, with a focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of physical education.
- Strong knowledge of the national PE curriculum and relevant sports coaching techniques.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to promoting health and fitness among young people.
