Are you a passionate and skilled Teacher of Resistant Materials with a desire to inspire young men to explore the world of design and technology? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our thriving Design & Technology department in a boys' school in Hillingdon.

About the D&T Department:
The Design & Technology department is a collaborative and inspiring team with a shared commitment to fostering students' creativity, innovation, and practical skills. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of D&T specialisms, including resistant materials, product design, electronics, and textiles. We have well-equipped workshops and studios with access to the latest technologies and resources.
About the Role:
- Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Guide and support students in using a range of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products.
- Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Resistant Materials curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
- Foster a love of Design & Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Resistant Materials.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T and relevant examination specifications.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
